The Flathead Indian Reservation, located in northwestern Montana, is home to the Salish, Pend d’Oreille and Kootenai Tribes. Aboriginal territories of our Tribes spanned over 20 million acres of what is now known as western Montana, northern Idaho, and parts of southern Canadian provinces. When outside pressures and settlement of the west by non-Indians became too great, Tribal leaders negotiated the 1855 Treaty of Hellgate. This established the Flathead Indian Reservation for the exclusive use and benefit of the Salish, Pend d’Oreille and Kootenai Tribes. Today, the Flathead Indian Reservation encompasses 1.317 million acres, of which just over 790,000 acres are proudly owned and managed by the Tribes and its members.

S&K Aerospace, as a wholly owned corporation of the Tribes, is part of the economic development plan established by tribal leadership. Foremost is SKA’s commitment to provide economic and social opportunities to tribal members and the surrounding community. In addition to employment opportunities, S&K Aerospace’s success allows the company to pay a yearly dividend to our shareholders. This money is used to further improve the quality of life on the reservation and is part of S&K Aerospace’s vision of the future for our people.
